Knee pain and dysfunction are particularly common among athletes, physically active individuals, and the elderly. Even if you don't fall into one of these groups, knee pain can significantly impact your daily activities. Treating knee pain as soon as possible will help to avoid future issues. Not addressing a knee problem early can lead to ankle problems as well as lower back pain as your body tries to compensate for the disfunctional knee.

Those who engage in sports on a regular basis often experience knee pain due to trauma and overuse, whereas the elderly usually experience knee pain due to arthritis. Our approach to addressing knee pain is very unique and produces rapid results for both groups.

Types of Knee Pain:

Knee pain is often caused by acute injuries such as meniscus or ACL tears, ITB syndrome (runners knee), and sprains. These can benefit greatly from the therapies we provide. Chronic pain from conditions such as osteoarthritis, Osgood Schlatters disease, and Plica syndrome also benefit from our therapies but can take longer to resolve. The last type of knee pain is referred pain from the lower back and hip region. 

Causes of knee pain:

Once we have ruled out any underlying disease or problem, the most common causes of knee pain are mechanical in nature. Often knee pain starts in the lower back, pelvis, and hip area.

If these areas are not well-balanced, it changes your posture. Poor posture and spinal alignment can lead to unnecessary weight on the knee joints, which can result in knee pain.
